There ain't no free lunch!

This is an old saying I have found to be true time and again. Got a free cell phone?  I'll bet you the price of the phone is figured into the monthly payment. Free security system?  I haven't seen any.

When something is advertised as free, the provider is really offering you an incentive to sign up for a service plan of some sort. It's up to you to make sure that the service suits your needs and that the company will stand behind it.

When your security system is going off, the most important thing will be the person on the other end of the phone, not the low price you paid!  Will you talk to a live person or be sent to voice mail?  Will a technician come out promptly if needed?

Do you think that a product offered as "free" will be of high quality?  I'll bet it will be the lowest cost product available to them. Of course they will SAY its the very best;  you have to ask right questions.

My advice is to shop for service first. You can be sure the  company that will give you good service will recommend a good product; after all they are going to take care of it. Your job is to do your homework and select the right company,  then let them help with finding the product service you need.

So the next time you're tempted to call around for the lowest price, keep service in mind -  Remember there ain't no free lunch!
